Dedicated Lead-Free

In this documentary series, we follow Mette Karin Petersen, a passionate hunter from Denmark, on her quest for knowledge about lead-free ammunition.

A timely subject

It was the love of the dogs – and being appointed a beater - that first got Mette into hunting.

She tells us that it, however, wasn’t love at first sight, but that it took a few more instances of being a beater as well before she realized what hunting is really about.

- I realized instead that hunting is about the unique nature experiences it gives you, about the collaboration with the dogs and the quiet surroundings. It’s about the venison that you can harvest if you’re lucky and it’s about friendships, says Mette Karin, who believes that pulling the trigger is just ”the cherry on top” when it comes to hunting.

For a couple of years, Mette Karin has been visiting schools to meet students and promote hunting, an assignment she enjoys.

- I am passionate about educating the next generation in the subjects of venison and hunting. We usually do a ”field to plate” concept. I start with a half-hour video presentation of a hunt for either a roe deer or a bird, depending on which game I have brought, says Mette Karin and adds:

- Then I explain why I hunt followed by all of us going to the school yard where we skin and butcher the game. Next we go to the kitchen to prepare and enjoy the venison. Usually I get them to make a McDonalds meal of venison burgers and pheasant nuggets. It’s always a hit!

Dedicated Lead Free

In NORMA’s documentary series Dedicated Lead Free, viewers can follow Mette as she learns more about lead-free ammunition; everything from how a lead-free bullet is made to how it affects the way we hunt. As for her role in the documentary series, Mette describes herself as ”the curious ordinary huntress who wants to increase her knowledge of a subject that we all need to know more about and make decisions about”. She is simply a new hunter who does not hesitate to ask questions.

- It is a complex subject, but we try to communicate it in a simple way. We focus on knowledge, hunting and the preparation of venison; before, during and after.

A timely subject

Mette is really happy about the project and thinks that lead-free is really a relevant topic that more people need to know more about.

- I sincerely hope that the project will be received by hunters in a positive and open way and that they will learn more about lead-free rifle ammunition.

- In addition, I also hope that this project opens up a lot of new questions that #dedicatedleadfree will give rise to and provide answers to, concludes Mette Petersen.

Ecostrike Silencer Series
The lead free choice

ECOSTRIKE for silencers and short barrels

ECOSTRIKE™ brings the latest in bullet technology into a lead-free projectile. Our copper bullet delivers deep penetration, almost 100% weight retention and a high BC. To make the bullet lighter and prevent it from fragmenting, the lead has been replaced by copper and nickel. ECOSTRIKE™ is the lead-free choice for hunting medium and large game due to its excellent ability to expand at both low and high velocities. The Ecostrike Silencer cartridge is loaded with our popular lead free Ecostrike bullet in our dark grey cases that also helps you to keep your standard loads and Norma Silencer Series separated when the bullets are the same. The features of the Ecostrike bullet are the same as on our standard ammunition but the load is optimized for shorter barrels, 50 cm instead of CIP standard 61 cm. If you have a shorter barrel than 61 cm, you benefit from shooting Norma Silencer Series even without a silencer/suppressor. With an optimized load, you get greater speed and more effect, closer to your standard ammunition shot in standard 61 cm barrel.
